Nico Figueroa | Staff Instructor
Certificates and Ratings: CFI, CFII
Born and raised in San Mateo, Nico’s passion for aviation took off early. He spent countless hours at the Hiller Aviation platform in San Carlos, watching planes soar overhead, and attending Hiller Aviation summer camp as a kid. These experiences planted the seed for a lifelong love of flying, leading him to earn his private pilot certificate while still in high school.
Nico went on to earn an engineering degree from Santa Clara University, where he built a strong technical foundation that perfectly complements his practical approach to flight instruction. During college, he also worked on the operations side of a local flight school, gaining valuable insight into the inner workings of flight training.
His commercial training took him to Bozeman, Montana, where mountain flying and rapidly changing weather enhanced his piloting skills and adaptability.
As an instructor, Nico is committed to making every lesson informative, engaging, and safe—while always keeping it fun.
When he’s not flying, you’ll find Nico skiing down slopes, teeing off on the golf course, or exploring the outdoors. For him, the adventure continues both inside and outside the cockpit
