Herb has been interested in flying since a young age but didn’t have the opportunity to pursue that interest until 2010 when he began flying. After receiving his Private Pilot Certificate, he began finding ways to help others learn about aviation. Herb became an FAA ground Instructor and started helping other students with the aeronautical knowledge necessary for their Private Pilot Certificates. In 2014, Herb began teaching the Private Pilot Ground School at San Carlos Flight Center and has loved every minute of it. He enjoys bringing the same passion, patience and enthusiasm from teaching ground school to students that want to learn to fly. Herb has always been interested in becoming a CFI and realized that goal in 2018. Herb has been recognized twice by AOPA as a Distinguished Flight Instructor. He has led the 5-day Mountain trips to Colorado, Southwest and the Pacific Northwest. In 2024, Herb led the team to develop our instrument training syllabus and published our Instrument Training Workbook.
