6B - Full IFR Flight Challenge

Activities
- Review student personal IFR environment exposure bingo card (student facing subset)
- Full IFR flight challenges as given by CFI, at least one done at night
- 1 - San Carlos to Modesto, longer, course reversal, go missed (w/o GPS), then back to land, for return to SQL depart VFR, file IFR in air with FSS and pickup clearance in the air
- add to bingo card
- 2 - San Carlos to Livermore, land and return under IFR to Palo Alto
- add to bingo card
- 3 - San Carlos to Watsonville, DME arc and circle, land (cancel IFR on the ground with FSS) and return, non-towered, charted departure
- 4 - San Carlos to Santa Rosa and back, SID and STAR, Center
- 5 - San Carlos to Rio Vista, go missed, on to Concord, missed, land at Napa
- Complete and review student bingo card for 6
- Make additional flights until complete
- Returns made useful to Hayward, Oakland, Palo Alto
- Consider departing from Hayward or Oakland
- Contacting FSS for WX Update, PiRep, Real IFR flight

When complete, the pilot
- has completed all SCFC training elements associated with IFR flight to Airman Certification Standards.
6C - Long IFR Cross-Country
Plan and Execute the Required Long IFR Cross-Country Flight

- Preparation for required long IFR cross-country flight
- Preflight weather briefing
- File IFR flight plan
Activities
- Cross-country flight under IFR with an instrument approach at each airport and three different kinds of approaches.
Completion Standards
When complete, the pilot
- has completed the long IFR cross-country flight.
