For the last year, the CFI team at San Carlos Flight Center has been reviewing how we teach new students about fuel mixture management, diving more deeply into engine operations in general. It turns out, there’s a lot we needed to know beyond airplane manuals and FAA handbooks.
In this seminar, SCFC Chief Pilot, Dan Dyer, will present the findings of the teams engine fuel mixture discovery journey. He’ll show where aircraft manufacturers may oversimplify guidance from engine manufacturers, and how cascading “in case of” cautions can lead to engine fouling. He will share the changes SCFC is making in Private Pilot training to better inform new pilots on engine management.
If you’ve always wondered how spark plugs get fouled, or why Cessna arranges the engine controls in the way they have, join us for this illuminating seminar.
