It doesn’t matter if we’re flying VFR or IFR, PIREPs are the nowcast of aviation weather: what’s actually happening out there.
In this presentation, SCFC invites in aviation legend Alan Marcum to share the why, when, and how of making PIREPs and the best ways to read and interpret them.
Alan Marcum, an instrument-rated private pilot, has been flying for over forty years and over 2,500 flight hours, and has delivered numerous FAA Safety Seminars on topics such as flying across the US and in-flight weather-based decision-making. He bases his Mooney at Palo Alto, where he learned to fly.
