Pilots often like redundancy to reduce risk, and with a multi-engine airplane, the addition of another engine affords us a larger margin of safety, as well as an increase in performance. With the added engine, pilots will learn how to safely operate with only one remaining engine, as well as the complex system of the landing gear. By learning how to operate multi-engine aircraft safely, pilots will be rewarded with more power, performance, and the prospect of flying bigger airplanes.

The Steps to Gaining a Multi Engine Rating Include:

  • Review the POH
  • Practice aerial maneuvers
  • Learn how to operate with two engines
  • Takeoff and landing practice
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Operating with one engine
