Sep 7 (Sat) Noon Picturesque Shelter Cove

Event Date:
Saturday, September 7, 2019 (All day)

Sept 7 (Sat) 12:00 pm Lunch at Shelter Cove, CA

Join the FlyOutGroup (FOG) for a day-trip North to Shelter Cove, CA, a small fishing community on California's “Lost Coast,” the most undeveloped and remote portion of the California coast. The one-runway Shelter Cove Airport 0Q5 is located at the center of Shelter Cove's commercial district, where visitors will find restaurants, shops, and access to other local attractions. For those who are interested, we will lunch at Gyppo Ale Mill, California’s most remote craft brewery. For the rest of the afternoon, feel free to enjoy Shelter Cove’s other attractions, including Black Sands Beach, a scenic 9-hole round of golf at Shelter Cove Golf Course, and the Cape Mendocino Lighthouse, located on the westernmost point in California.

Note: While September is historically Shelter Cove’s warmest month of the year, due to the typical coastal weather patterns, we may need to relocate to our alternate destination, Charles M. Schulz –  Sonoma County Airport (KSTS). In the event that we will be flying to KSTS, please plan to arrive at the Sonoma Jet Center by 12 noon. We’ll then hop into crew cars/minivans for a scenic 20-minute drive through the Alexander Valley to lunch at the Jimtown Store in downtown Healdsburg.

FOG is for EVERYONE.  You do not have to be a San Carlos Flight Center member to attend.
