September 16 (Sat) 12:00pm The 2017 Solar Eclipse Review

Event Date:
Saturday, September 16, 2017 - 12:00pm

The 2017 Solar Eclipse Flyout was the most attended event in the history of the Flyout Group and probable one of the most attended flying events ever. For me, it was probable the most enjoyable and yet one of my most challenging flights. The heat, the mountains, the low visibilities from smoke south of the eclipse corridor, the missionitis and most of all, the dense air traffic without the availability of flight following.

The experience and learnings I gained were invaluable and I would love to hear yours.  I would like to invite you and your fellow pilots, photos, stories and learnings to this open forum where we will just share with each other that wonderful and extraordinary day. Just bring your phone or iPad and we can connect them to the projector.

Dave is an instrument rated, tailwheel endorsed private pilot as well as a basic and instrument ground instructor with an interest in weather. He has been flying since 2012, has over 800 hours of which 300 have been in the IFR system.  He also enjoys flying at night as well as flying in the LA area.

This event qualifies for FAA Wings credit.
