September 11 (Sun) 4:15pm Movie Night: Sully

Event Date:
Sunday, September 11, 2016 - 4:00pm

As pilots, we have an entirely different understanding of the Miracle on the Hudson, and how the lives of so many people were saved by proper training, risk management, and quick thinking.  Most of us still remember where we were when we heard about in on the news, and how quickly our thoughts turned to what the crew must have experienced.  As pilots, we train constantly so that our skills are at the ready should the unthinkable ever occur to us and my passengers.

San Carlos Flight Center, and the social group Flight Center Night Out, are joining with an event already planned by the Golden Gate Flyers pilots association.  Together, we’ll see “Sully” on the big IMAX screen, the way movies about flying were meant to be seen.  Together, let’s remember this incident, appreciate the risks faced by the crew in the scenario, and celebrate their choices and their actions.
We will be viewing the movie at AMC Metreon 16 in San Francisco.  The movie starts at 4:15pm so plan to meet outside the theater around 4:00pm.  We recommend PURCHASING YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE to avoid the film being sold out. Golden Gate Flyers pilots association and San Carlos Flight Center have rows 'L' and 'M', seats 8-27 in each row.  There are multiple seats available in rows 'N' and 'K' adjacent to the 'L' and 'M' block so plan on purchasing your ticket so we can all seat together.
