November 8 (Wed) 7:00pm Anticipating the Mind of ATC

Event Date:
Wednesday, November 8, 2017 - 7:00pm

The biggest compliment ATC can give to a pilot is when they only have to communicate the essentials. But how is this done?  Thinking ahead and knowing what to expect really puts you, the pilot, one step ahead.  Some of this comes with preflight planning but much of it is from experience.  And how do we get experience, especially when we fly only 2-3 times per month? Reading is one way but listening to those with thousands of hours of experience can really provide us with valuable pearls and insights that will put you at the top of your game.  There is nothing like traversing an airspace in “the zone”, getting all your calls correct,  and the other guys making the mistakes. There is no one I know with as much local California flying experience as Capt Ben Taber with over 15,000 of experience.

And how to best handle conflicts between pilots and ATC?  Ben will discuss examples of pilot incidents that ATC complained about, the processes that are used in pilot disputes/resolution and ways for pilots to improve the work partnership with ATC.

This seminar will absolutely make you a better pilot and help us all with our goal: “to be like Air Force One”
