June 2 (Sat) 12:00pm Tie Down Options for your Airplane

Event Date:
Saturday, June 2, 2018 - 12:00pm

You’ve landed at a remote airport in Utah with no tie downs.  How are you going to secure your plane while you go camping? A cold front is only hours away with a wall of thunderstorms.  Are your knots convective worthy? Also are there damage issues associated with chains that can be mitigated when real weather is expected?  What if the hook on the tie down chain doesn’t fit? What’s wrong?  Which flight school has a better knot? Is there a better knot?

We’ve all been there we can so we all appreciate that a few tips are always welcome.  Join Stephen Heesacker CFI as he walks us through all the ways to secure an airplane as well as all the pros and cons.

For Stephen, flying has always been a joy.  He has a degree in Physics and Aeronautics at San Jose State University and has competed on the San Jose Precision Flight Team and United States Precision Flight Team.
