January 19 (Sat) 12pm- Spin and Stall in the ICON A5

Event Date:
Saturday, January 19, 2019 - 12:00pm

Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) are targeted to pilots who primarily fly for fun. LSA are designed to be affordable, lightweight, and easy to operate. The ICON A5 reinvents recreational aviation, and like any other aircraft, the design is centered around safety. The aircraft features an Angle of Attack (AOA) gauge which enhances the early awareness of stalls and spins

Michael Watson, from ICON,  would like to talk about the safety features of the ICON A5 and how this applies to all aircraft. This seminar will focus on spin and stall awareness. He will use the spin resistance of the A5 as the main focus on this topic and walk through the use of the AOA gauge that the aircraft has. Included will also be a discussion the FAA Waiver that ICON uses for the production of the A5.

The seminar is held on a Saturday to allow demonstrations of the aircraft safety features as well as some demo flights.

Michael Watson is the Regional Sales Director, Northern California for ICON. He received his certificate in 1993 and has logged over 600 hours total time. He has flown everything from Cessna 150 Aerobatic, Cessna 152, Piper Warrior, and a Citabria, and his flying time is all personal time.
