Sep 2 (Sat) 12:00pm Bendix Kings KLN 89B and KLN 94 plus Garmin 430 GPS Navigators

Event Date:
Saturday, September 2, 2017 - 12:00pm

These navigators have been around for years and are currently being replaced by newer models such as the G1000 and the GTN 650 or 750.  But, if you are a renter, you may see these often and initially be disappointed because they do not have all the bells and whistles or may not be as intuitive to use as the newer GPS navigators are. But don’t be mislead, these navigators are workhorses and still get the job done.  There is a reason they are still approved by the FAA for IFR Flight.  You just have to know how to think like Bendix King versus Garmin.

Dave Kramer will present the KLN and Garmin units as a push button seminar and show you the logic behind each brand.  If you are already savvy with these units, this session is not for you. But if they are “new to you” or you have used them but not to there fullest capacity, this session will enhance your mastery of each unit.

Dave is an instrument rated, tailwheel endorsed private pilot as well as a basic and instrument ground instructor with an interest in weather. He has been flying since 2012, has over 800 hours of which 300 have been in the IFR system.  He also enjoys flying at night as well as flying in the LA area.

This event qualifies for FAA Wings credit.
