April 29 (Sat) 12:00pm San Carlos Tower Operations

Event Date:
Saturday, April 29, 2017 - 12:00pm

Did you know that the San Carlos Control Tower is a contracted tower and hence their rules of operations are a bit different from that of an FAA tower?  What’s going on with noise abatement, Surf Air and how can we help relations with our surrounding community?  What are the local expectations of us from our tower colleagues and what can we expect from them?  How do they pass us off so seamlessly from our airspace to Palo Alto, San Francisco or Norcal?  How do they choose the flight patterns in our class delta?

Join Rick Stein, director of San Carlos Tower, as he reviews local customs and then opens it up to a questions and answers period so that you may find out anything you wanted to know about our airspace.  These sessions are fun and informative and really help us to work as a team to insure safety and camaraderie.
